Agile at Scale,

Inspired by Spotify

25 & 26 November 2019, Antwerp

Trainers

Jimmy Janlén and Joakim Sundén, the teachers of the course, both have long experience from working at Spotify and have been involved in developing several of the concepts of “the Spotify Model”. During this training Jimmy and Joakim shares their experiences and viewpoints as independent agile coaches and trainers, not as representatives of Spotify.

WHAT is this training all about

How do you build an organisation that enables agile at scale and unleashes the power of small autonomous teams? After this two-day training you will have plenty of examples and inspiration from how Spotify grew a dynamic learning organisation that continually reinforces a high-trust culture and supports engaged autonomous teams.

During this training you will gain a deep and wide knowledge of how Spotify works under the hood. With this deeper understanding you will be able to see more options on how to improve your organisational design with regards to your context and boundaries. You will learn why Spotify made the decisions they made, what other options were considered, which changes were intentional and which ones were emergent, and so on.

Organization

Sugar Me was founded by Steve Conard. He's goal is to make projects and change a bit sweeter; projects are often seen as difficult, not fun at all, a necessary evil – a bit like a strong espresso: you need it to wake up, but who can sincerely say they like the taste of it in the morning? How cool would it be if we could add some sugar to that strong coffee, so waking up becomes a nice experience? That’s what Sugar Me is all about!

Steve decided to bring this training to Belgium after he attended it in Stockholm – yes, in the heart of everything, the Spotify HQ! He was amazed with the value Joakim and Jimmmy brought; the ideas they shared, the openness they showed about the learning path of Spotify as well as their enchanting personalities made it a trip worthwhile. Steve believes in the principles of the “Spotify model”, and in the way every company can tune it to its specific needs. As Spotify is all about sharing knowledge and experience, Steve wanted to offer this great learning opportunity to a broader audience in Belgium.
So here we are, ready to take you on this journey!

What previous participants say about this training

'Joakim Sundén and Jimmy Janlén did a great job these last 2 days, explaining all the concepts, telling all the inside stories, and making 'agile at scale' (not scaling it) tangible for us. But mainly they advised us to try out these concepts in our own context, experimenting and failing, but learning and trying again. Relentlessly.'

Michaëla Broeckx, Agile Coach at Ordina

'It was a great opportunity to learn from these inspiring guys
Leen De Wael, Project Manager at TUI
'I can only highly recommend this training!'
Els Ozeel, Project Manager at Katoen Natie
'The training of Joakim and Jimmy was very inspiring and motivating to me. They have given some very ready-to-use tips.  Furthermore, their anekdotes from Spotify made the whole training even more amusing.
Highly recommended!'
Frédéric Hosselaer, Product Owner at Mediahuis

'Really enjoy trainings from first hand, like the the Agile at scale training inspired by Spotify by Joakim Sundén and Jimmy Janlén. Thanks for a great 2 days, Jimmy and Joakim!'
